The incident took place around 5:35 p.m. as the man was crossing the road near 63 Yonkers Ave. and was struck by a Jeep driven by a 35-year-old Yonkers woman, said Sgt. Jared Singer.

The man killed was Yonkers resident Duane Selby, Singer announced on Saturday morning.

Both the driver of the Jeep and Selby were hospitalized. The woman was treated for minor injuries at the hospital, where Selby was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation found that the Jeep was traveling westbound on Yonkers Avenue, at which time it struck the pedestrian and then struck a parked vehicle, and rolled over on its side.

There are no criminal charges pending for the driver of the vehicle at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
